This seal was created to highlight beverages that we have taste tested and G1L approved as wine, beer, spirits and canned cocktails.
The Grand One Lounge Seal of Approval highlights that the beverage stands out in its peer group; not that it is purported to be the single best item in a category. There are many different taste profiles and the process is subjective of course. However, our tasting panels often involve multiple individuals. Approved beverages are those that appeal to a wide range of tasters, or that a category tasting expert has chosen based on a large product sample within a category.
The Grand One Lounge Seal of Approval Cannot Be Bought
The Grand One Lounge seal of approval is based solely on the discretion of Mike Belobradic as owner of GrandOneLounge.com and based on personal assessments in conjunction with those of GrandOneLounge.com taste testers. The seal cannot be bought or influenced by beverage companies, distributors, PR agencies and so on. This ensures that the integrity of the process is unbiased, so you can trust the seal as having been bestowed by real people who have followed stringent WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) tasting protocols for these products (and many more) in each category.
In addition, it is important to note that it is the policy of GrandOneLounge.com not to post negative reviews of any beverage product (there is no place for negativity here). So any beverage product that you see on this site is one that passes our discretion. When we taste test a product that does not meet our standards for taste and product quality, we simply do not post it or review it.
Any product marked with the Grand One Lounge Seal of Approval is one that particularly stood out during the tasting and review process. Taste is always subjective, but if you find that your taste aligns with those on GrandOneLounge.com, then you can buy with confidence for your home bar or as something to bring with you to a gathering.
