How to Make a Moscow Mule at Home
The Moscow Mule is a vodka, ginger beer and lime cocktail that's super refreshing.
The Moscow Mule is one of those cocktails that you don't know you like until you've tried one. This is a great cocktail to serve to guests for the first time as it often involves a pleasantly surprised reaction. With a perfectly balanced mix of vodka, ginger beer and lime juice, the Moscow Mule is definitely a cocktail worth trying.
Moscow Mule Ingredients
1-1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
6 oz ginger beer (approximately)
The Moscow Mule is super easy to make.
Simply add the vodka, lime juice and ginger beer (one with a good bite works best) into your glass, fill to the brim (or a little above) with ice and serve. For full effect, it's worth investing in a few copper Moscow Mule mugs. They keep the drink extra chill and the condensation on the exterior of the mug is part of the charm. It's a little like a Mint Julep in that respect. You can also use a clear mug if you don't have a copper cup.
I like to garnish the Moscow Mule with a lime twirl because I love tart and lime is a key ingredient in this cocktail. However, you can always make it your own where garnish is concerned.
